In the Indian Ocean, Mauritius, La Réunion and Madagascar produce excellent rums available mostly on the French market. In the Pacific Ocean, Polynesia has some distilleries with limited and qualitative production of vesou rums, honoring the French tradition, Fiji, west of Polynesia, produces elegant British-tradition rums that are very popular with independent bottlers, just like Australia since recently.
