The production of spirits in Colombia is a state monopoly, La Fabrica de Licores Antioquia (FLA) is the oldest distillery (1940) and important in the country. Rhums are made from molasses and/or cane honey in state distilleries,, and then, for the most part, aged and bottled in the Bodegas with historical know-how.
