Amérique du Sud

South American rums can be seprated into three families, first of all, the huge Brazil, producing Cachaçamade from pure cane juice, then from Paraguay going up through west with Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, to Guatemala via Panama and Costa Rica, has the purest historical tradition, which produce light and often sweetened rums. Finally, three atypical enclaves: French Guiana, land of agricultural rums, then Belize and Guyana, which produce British-traditional rums mainly made of molasses and distilled in Pot Still. It should be noted that Guyana rich rum production past, including the Demerara region, produces excellent and sought-after rums.
