Established on the slopes of Soufrière since the 17th century, the Bologne plantation experienced different types of crops until the middle of the 19th century when sugar cane monoculture was developed on all its plots. This revolution fully revealed the exceptional richness of this volcanic terroir and everyone agreed that the Bologne plantation concentrates on a few dozen hectares the most beautiful rum terroirs there are, with completely unique potential on the island. In operation since 1887, Bologna is the oldest distillery in Guadeloupe.
The Bologne distillery produces Agricole Rhum in compliance with the Guadeloupe IG. A distillery combining modernity and tradition, Bologne multiplies quality labels and certifications: Living Heritage Company, level 3 High Environmental Value Operation... It is also the first distillery in the history of Guadeloupe to offer a single-plot rum with Organic certification.
