A1710 is one of the youngest distilleries in Martinique.
In 2006, Yves Assier de Pompignan dreamed of a bold project: to create a distillery of Rhum Agricole in Martinique. The first in decades. A distillery with the identity of the West Indies, its history and its soil to produce a rum of excellence combining tradition and modernity.
In 2010, as the project takes shape, the A1710 team makes a radical choice: the Agricultural Rucks produced in their distillery will be outside the AOC. Indeed, it makes its choice to a hybrid distillation apparatus: a charentais copper still supplemented with a small column with seven trays. Combined with fermentation tanks, the temperature of which is controlled to allow long fermentations, this device aims to produce distinctive rums combining strength and fineness.
Finally, after lengthy administrative procedures, on 31 December 2015 the authorization is given to open a distillery for the manufacture of agricultural rum.
Anchored to 4 values (beauty, creativity authenticity, quality), the Maison A1710 is committed to producing agricultural rums in small quantities with the objective of uncompromising quality to the enlightened amateur.
Authentic in respect of ancestral know-how, the A1710 Rhums are also innovative in many aspects. Each of the cuvées has a complex and captivating aromatic palette, the result of the work and passion of women and men of conviction. The exclusivity of manufacturing techniques and the originality of the recipes make the production of A1710 "Extraordinary Rhums".
