It was in 1927, on the north coast of the island that Engenhos do Norte was born, a merger of 2 distilleries out of the fifty that then made up Madeira. Nearly 100 years later, it is as if time had had no influence on the distillery. It’s still the same steam engines that make the heart of Engenhos do Norte beat, it’s still the same stills from the French brand Barbet that produce this superb Madeira Rhum Agricole.
