Located in the town of Trelawny in the northwest of Jamaica, the Long Pond distillery was founded in 1753. At the time, Trelawny was the nerve center of sugar cane production in Jamaica. In the 18th century there were no less than 40 sugar factories located in the town, each with its own rum distillery. Renowned for its characterful rums, Long Pond operated “under the radar” until 2021, reserving its production for independent bottlers and blenders around the world. With their inaugural bottling Long Pond 15 Year Old Special Edition ITP-15, the distillery is, finally, taking the place it deserves in the spotlight.
