Located in the very north of Martinique in the town of Grand' Rivière, Habitation Beauséjour was founded by Senator Amédée Knight in 1883. If at the turn of the 20th century, the distillery acquired its letters of nobility (including a medal of gold at the Paris competition in 1931), the sugar crisis unfortunately got the better of the estate which closed its doors at the end of the 1950s.
