The TDL distillery (Trinidad Distillers Limited), based in Trinidad and Tobago, was founded in 1824 by Doctor Johann Siegert. A Prussian military doctor to whom we owe the invention of Aromatic Bitter Angostura, he left his native Prussia to enlist as a military surgeon in the liberation army of Simon Bolivar in Venezuela. It produces the iconic Aromatic Bitter Angostura, an essential ally of all bartenders around the world.
