France

The climate of continental France is hardly suitable for the cultivation of sugar cane, but the number of independent bottlers is increasing. Consisting in most of case of well-inspired and talented people who allow us to discover rums from all over the globe and even some real curiosities. We can mention  Les Rhums de Ced which, since 2011, have become the undisputed master of Rhums Arrangés, or the Ferroni House, which is teeming with ideas and audacity to offer very elaborate products from all sources, like their delicious and quite UFO-like Gin Kreyol. It should be noted that even though the bulk of the production of French Rhums takes place in the overseas French islands, many micro-distilleries have emerged in recent years, often offering whiskies but also rums, often in very limited editions, such as La Distillerie de Paris, or Bows in Montauban. Another significant event is the birth in 2021 of Flamant Rhum, the very first Rhum made from sugar canes grown in continental France.
